Molecular Stacking on Graphene

چکیده
Abstract The sequential vertical polyfunctionalization of 2D addend‐patterned graphene is still elusive. Here, we report a practical realization this goal via “molecular building blocks” approach, which based on combination lithography‐assisted reductive functionalization approach and post‐functionalization step to sequentially controllably link the molecular blocks ethylpyridine, cis ‐dichlorobis(2,2′‐bipyridyl)ruthenium, triphenylphosphine (4‐methylbenzenethiol, respectively) selected lattice regions matrix. assembled hetero‐architectures are unambiguously characterized by various spectroscopic microscopic measurements, revealing stepwise stacking surface. Our method overcomes current limitation one‐layer‐only binding surface opens door for growth in z‐direction.

Pressure-induced commensurate stacking of graphene on boron nitride
Combining atomically-thin van der Waals materials into heterostructures provides a powerful path towards the creation of designer electronic devices. The interaction strength between neighbouring layers, most easily controlled through their interlayer separation, can have significant influence on the electronic properties of these composite materials. Here, we demonstrate unprecedented control ...
متن کاملPolycrystallinity and stacking in CVD graphene.
Graphene, a truly two-dimensional hexagonal lattice of carbon atoms, possesses remarkable properties not seen in any other material, including ultrahigh electron mobility, high tensile strength, and uniform broadband optical absorption. While scientists initially studied its intrinsic properties with small, mechanically exfoliated graphene crystals found randomly, applying this knowledge would ...
متن کاملStacking-dependent optical conductivity of bilayer graphene.
The optical conductivities of graphene layers are strongly dependent on their stacking orders. Our first-principle calculations show that, while the optical conductivities of single-layer graphene (SLG) and bilayer graphene (BLG) with Bernal stacking are almost frequency-independent in the visible region, the optical conductivity of twisted bilayer graphene (TBG) is frequency-dependent, giving ...
متن کاملStacking faults and partial dislocations in graphene
We investigate two mechanisms of crystallographic slip in graphene, corresponding to glide and shuffle generalized stacking faults (GSF), and compute their -curves using Sandia National Laboratories Large-scale Atomic/Molecular Massively Parallel Simulator (LAMMPS). We find evidence of metastable partial dislocations for the glide GSF only. The computed values of the stable and unstable stackin...
